IOR Introduce Trainee Membership

The Institute of Roofing have announced that they will be introducing a Trainee Membership. This new type of membership will be aimed at any young person or adult, new to the roofing industry that is undertaking formal craft/technical or business training to fulfill the role assigned to them. Examples include:

• Trainee enrolled onto an apprenticeship programme
• Trainee surveyors or drawing office personnel not directly involved with installing roofs but providing a support service and training towards a recognised qualification in that discipline
• Trainee office personnel employed in admin support roles essential to good management of a roofing business and studying towards recognised qualifications in that role.

The decision to introduce this new level of membership is strongly supported by Eastern Region Roof Training Group as we feel it will give trainees across the roofing industry the opportunity to join a fantastic membership programme within roofing.
