On the 19th of November, Eastern Roof Training were delighted to visit local primary school, Wood Ley, to provide 2 sessions on careers in construction for year 5’s as part of our CITB Funded 9-11 year old programme.
After our recent success in applying for the funding to be able to deliver 6 of these primary school sessions across East Anglia, we were thrilled to put our application into action. Both sessions proved to be a fantastic success, with 60 students taking part in some different construction-related activities including constructing a ‘mock site’, some plumbing and some flooring work too. The students enthusiasm was brilliant and each of them received a certificate for their construction training session.
Not only will we be going into primary schools to deliver the training, but we are also inviting students from the sessions to come into our training centre with their parent and take part in a short construction project that they are able to take home with them.
We’d like to personally thank Wood Ley primary school for hosting us for the day, and we cant wait to go back for some more sessions in the future!
