8 New Apprentices Join ERRTG Slate & Tile Course

After recently saying goodbye to 6 Slate & Tile Apprentices who finished their Level 2 Apprenticeship course with us after 2 years, we were delighted to welcome 8 new Apprentices that will be starting their journey into the roofing industry.

The programme, which involves the student attending college 1 day a week and working for their contractor the other 4 days has proved to be extremely successful since we started delivery in 2009 and very popular among our roofing members. This years intake includes apprentices from Bailey Roofing, Cando Roofing, Aspect Roofing, Top2Bottom Roofing & RG Leverett Roofing.

During the apprenticeship, each apprentice will study 9 modules including installing single lap tiles, slates, plain tiles and much more. The course is split between theory sessions and practical sessions on our training rigs meaning the apprentices not only gain the knowledge but also the skills needed to be a competent roofer. Upon completion of their course, each apprentice will gain a Level 2 Diploma in Slate & Tile and a Level 2 NVQ in Slate & Tile.
