Who Should Complete the Level 2 NVQ in Bituminous Roofing?
The NVQ Level 2 fast track in Built Up Bituminous Roofing is designed for persons with at least 5 years of experience who are currently working as a Built Up Bituminous Roofer and require a nationally recognised qualification in this occupation. This qualification requires “Pour & Roll” experience as well as “Torch On”. The NVQ Level 2 is for those looking to gain their CSCS Blue Skilled Card. Upon receiving payment or agreement of a payment plan, an NVQ pack will be emailed/sent to you to complete and return before we book your assessment date. You are required to bring your own tools and PPE; all materials are supplied.

- A/503/1170 – Conforming to General Health, Safety & Welfare in the Workplace.
- J/503/1169 – Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace.
- F/503/1171 – Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace.
- M/651/4421 – Prepare Background Surfaces for Bitumen Roofing in the Workplace.
- L/651/4420 – Apply Bitumen Felt Roofing in the Workplace.
- R/651/4422 – Repair and Maintain Bitumen Felt Roofing in the Workplace.
Method of Assessment
The Level 2 NVQ is assessed at our centre on our flat roofing rigs. This assessment is only available for experienced fitters and will include you installing a full roof system to details such as gulleys, pipe details, outlets and upstands. Your assessor will collect evidence through video, photographs, professional discussions, your installer’s tickets and a CV history.
